TIP: Art By Senior Artists! ARTFaces/ARTPlaces
Hello, I just watched the last part of a program on CH 24 and was able to get your URL. (near Orlando, Fl) As a senior, I see a need for your site. As an artist, I know many senior artists have work which should be shown on the internet. So, I would like to find out the best way to find seniors and let them know about our non profit gallery with free admission for artists over age 55 . Here is the information: I hope you can help.
I would like to introduce ARTFaces | ARTPlaces (AFAP) , a nonprofit gallery of artists on the Internet featuring artists from around the world. We at AFAP currently have a separate children's art gallery, ARTKids, and are in the final stages of development of ARTSeniors, a gallery that will feature the art of senior citizens.
Our children's and seniors' galleries involve no cost whatsoever to the artists. This is a community service project of AFAP to exhibit the art of often overlooked groups of artists. There are no obligations, membership or otherwise, involved. Our plan is to exhibit art that is submitted by senior citizens. Each exhibit will remain online for at least 4 to 6 weeks and then be switched out to new art.
I would like to invite artistic senior citizens who might be active artists over 55 to submit work for exhibit in our online gallery. We plan to have the grand opening of ARTSeniors in early August and hope to have a good representation of art from across the nation at that time. Although ARTSeniors is not yet online I would invite you to visit our regular gallery, Announcing ARTFaces ARTPlaces, (www.artfaces.com) which is operated a bit differently in that we do have a juried membership, and also to visit ARTKids, our children's gallery.
ARTFaces | ARTPlaces was founded a year ago by six artists who met on an artist's message board on AOL. From a small wish to have a site where we could view each other's work, our idea grew into an international gallery site. We six ladies are very proud of our accomplishments and hope that you will join our efforts to exhibit the art of all interested senior citizens.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Wolf
