Drottningholm Show Segment

Today we head out to Drottningholm Castle Park, before we leave Stockholm to head to Finland. Drottningholm Palace is now the residence of the royal family. The palace based on French and Dutch models was built in 1662. Within the beautiful park area with its terraces and avenues of lime trees are various bronze statues brought back from Denmark. This peaceful place is only seven miles from the heart of the city and is accessible by boat and car. Many smaller buildings dot the area. But the gift shop was a big draw with our group. Tours of the palace are offered throughout the day which gives a remarkable view of the treasures stored here for all to see.

Finally it is time to leave Stockholm, Arne, and our bus driver. But before parting Suren sent greetings to all. Tonight we head across the archipelago to Helsinki. The water is peaceful, yet filled with traffic. We enjoy a wonderful dinner and then have the evening to explore all the amenities offered on this sailing hotel as we head east for our final destination. When we remember this day we will remember, the beauty of the Drottningholm Castle Park, the magnificence of the Palace, the wonderful food and the great shopping and the peaceful trip to Finland as we cross the archipelagos on our cruise ship and say good-by to beautiful Sweden and all that it offered to us as tourists.
